In 2015, Strada entered into a development agreement with the City of Oakland to redevelop city-owned property located in the heart of the Oakland City Center neighborhood. Strada successfully obtained rights to redevelop the first phase site as a residential building.
The first phase development, 1150 Clay Street, features 288 apartment units, ground-floor retail spaces and a publicly accessible plaza on the 12th Street frontage. The building was designed by Kennerly Architecture and Planning and HKS Architects, with landscape by Oakland-based Einwiller Kuehl.
